POSITION OVERVIEW: Patricio Enterprises is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Senior Systems Engineer at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide systems engineering expertise to assist the Government in analyzing system concepts, designs, and interoperability.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of system architectures for current and future PD Aerostat systems, participating in various systems engineering technical reviews.
  • Support the analysis of requirements and capabilities gaps, translating user needs into performance specifications.
  • Conduct technical assessments regarding the performance and progress of PD Aerostats' systems and explore potential technologies to meet user requirements.
  • Develop essential documentation, including Technology Readiness Levels for hardware and software, engineering change proposals, and technical manuals.
  • Utilize engineering and architecture tools to manage requirements and communicate system architectures effectively.
  • Propose engineering solutions aimed at reducing overall sustainment costs through comprehensive cost-benefit analyses.
  • Assist in the creation of documentation for program offices, including systems engineering plans and technical specifications.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with the DoD 5000 Framework.
  • Understanding of DoDAF artifacts.
  • Proficient in engineering and architecture tools such as Rational, Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System, and Visio.
  • Strong analytical and evaluative skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to manage and interpret large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS or higher in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Systems Engineer, with a working knowledge of DoDI 5000 and Defense Acquisition.
  • Additional experience may substitute for educational requirements, with a Master's degree potentially substituting for five years of experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position involves sedentary work requiring activities such as reaching, lifting, and fine motor skills. Employees must be able to effectively communicate in English and demonstrate adaptability, analytical skills, and good judgment.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 15% by ground and air transportation.
