POSITION SUMMARY: Patricio Enterprises is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to contribute to critical projects at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide expert systems engineering support to analyze system concepts, designs, and interoperability; contribute to system architecture evaluations for current and future PD Aerostat systems; participate in various systems engineering technical reviews.
  • Conduct requirements and capabilities gap analysis, translating user needs into performance specifications in accordance with established processes.
  • Deliver technical assessments on the performance and progress of PD Aerostats' systems, exploring potential technologies to meet user requirements.
  • Develop essential documentation, including Technology Readiness Levels for hardware and software, engineering change proposals, program baselines, and technical manuals.
  • Utilize engineering and architecture tools such as Creo, Windchill, Rational, DOORS, System Architect, Magic Draw, and Visio to manage requirements and communicate system architectures.
  • Propose engineering solutions aimed at reducing overall sustainment costs through thorough cost-benefit analysis.
  • Assist in the creation of comprehensive documentation for program offices, including systems engineering plans, test and evaluation master plans, technical specifications, and acquisition requirement packages.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with the DoD 5000 Framework.
  • Understanding of DoDAF artifacts.
  • Proficient in engineering and architecture tools such as Rational, DOORS, Visio, System Architect, and MagicDraw.
  • Strong analytical and evaluative skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to manage large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS degree or higher.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Systems Engineer, with knowledge of DoDI 5000 and Defense Acquisition.
  • Additional relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements, with a Master's degree providing a substitute for five years of experience if in a related field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position involves sedentary work requiring activities such as reaching, lifting, and fine motor skills. Employees must be able to effectively communicate in English and demonstrate adaptability, analytical skills, and decision-making capabilities.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 15% by ground and air transportation.
