Funding Development Specialist

Position Overview

As a Funding Development Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting our department by identifying funding opportunities, crafting and submitting grant proposals, and managing our grants database.

Compensation: $30-32 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain and maintain a comprehensive understanding of grant and program contracts, ensuring compliance and effective administration.
  • Draft letters and assemble necessary documentation in response to requests for proposals.
  • Prepare and send communications related to grant applications and other funding relationships.
  • Keep agency files and the grants database current for tracking grant renewals, deadlines, and execution.
  • Collaborate with program and support staff to ensure accuracy and consistency in electronic filing and submission of all grant documents.
  • Undertake special projects as required.
  • Compose all grant and funding communications in clear, grammatically correct English, minimizing the need for extensive editing.

Reporting Duties:

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all agency grant deliverables and provide writing and editing support to program managers.

Database Management:

  • Update and maintain the grants database, including GrantTracker+ and/or Compliatric.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in administration, project management, funding, or non-profit sectors.
  • Ability to write concise narratives.
  • Strong attention to detail, a collaborative spirit, and adaptability.
  • Experience in grant development and writing is advantageous but not mandatory.
