Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Event Assistant to join our team at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, MA. The successful candidate will assist with the execution of public programs and private events, providing exceptional visitor experiences and promoting membership in The Trustees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with event setup, including moving tables and chairs, decorating, and providing marketing and educational materials.
  • Support private events and liaise with private lessees on site.
  • Educate visitors about The Trustees' mission and value of membership, and sell memberships on site.
  • Greet and/or check-in visitors upon arrival, orient them to the property, and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Post social media updates before, during, and after events.
  • Enforce property rules and regulations, and maintain event areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures, and process cash or credit sales transactions.
  • Communicate regularly with staff to report safety concerns, incidents, maintenance needs, and program assessment.
Requirements
  • Outgoing, friendly, and enthusiastic, with excellent customer service skills.
  • Responsible and committed, with exceptional attention to detail and safety.
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.
  • Articulate, confident, and calm when confronted by uncooperative visitors and in emergency situations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • CPR and First Aid certification, highly desirable.
  • Commitment to The Trustees' mission and a great visitor experience.
Working Conditions
  • Variable outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds required.
