The Senior Solutions Architect for Services is a pivotal role focused on overseeing the various Architecture Governance frameworks as outlined by EAP and Services, while delivering both high-level and detailed designs for new or modified application systems in collaboration with the Services Technology teams. The primary goals of this position include:

1. Serving as a subject-matter expert in the essential architecture governance frameworks that Services must adhere to as part of operational protocols (CSI, CTC, ARB, CAR, AI/ML, etc.), managing these processes on a daily basis.
2. Leading the analysis of application systems, providing design solutions, and coordinating architecture governance initiatives.

The Services Architecture team also engages in numerous cross-Departmental initiatives, and the architect is expected to actively contribute to these strategic endeavors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take a leading role in steering the Services Architecture governance frameworks, including those derived from SMB Architecture and those unique to Services. This entails daily governance administration and ensuring adherence to established processes.
  • Gather data and generate reports on governance functions effectively.
  • Act as a governance Subject Matter Expert, coaching Services teams on the appropriate procedures for CSI / CTC registration and maintenance, Permits Process, CART process, AI/ML attestations, etc.
  • Collaborate with Application Teams across Services to resolve various high-impact challenges/projects through comprehensive evaluation of intricate business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in areas such as database design, big data, cloud deployment, and microservices, ensuring application design aligns with the overarching architecture blueprint for Services.
  • Guide Services Application teams in development pipelines, leveraging advanced knowledge of system flow and development standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
  • Assume a hands-on leadership role in application/tool low-level design and coding, including engagement with DevOps pipelines, providing practical assistance to application teams with Proofs of Concept, Pilots, etc.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of how various business areas, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to achieve business objectives.
  • Partner with Application teams to conduct in-depth analyses, employing interpretive thinking to identify issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Act as an advisor or mentor to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating tasks as necessary.
  • Assess risks appropriately when making business decisions, ensuring consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding its clients and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, and applying sound ethical judgment in personal conduct and business practices.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in Applications Development or Architecture roles.
  • Strong background in Enterprise Architecture Governance processes.
  • Extensive experience in system analysis and software application programming.
  • Proven track record in managing and executing successful projects.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development (database design, big data, cloud deployment, microservices, integration).
  • Ability to swiftly adjust priorities as circumstances evolve.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
