Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in Kafka administration, focusing on:

  • Developing Kafka infrastructure with an emphasis on availability, performance, security, and automation.
  • Providing Level 2 administrator support for Kafka infrastructure.
  • Ensuring support availability during designated business hours and rotational service periods.
  • Maintaining the performance and security of Kafka infrastructure.
  • Developing and sustaining automation processes for Kafka systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in setting up Confluent Apache Kafka clusters.
  • Familiarity with Apache Spark and Talend is advantageous.
  • Experience in configuring clusters on both bare metal and cloud environments.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in Apache Kafka and Apache Spark.
  • Resolve performance bottlenecks and manage capacity effectively.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and programming capabilities.
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies swiftly and effectively.
  • Utilize industry knowledge to address customer needs and concerns.
  • Exhibit strong work ethics and time management skills.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in installing and maintaining Confluent Platform components including Apache Kafka, Confluent Control Center, and Confluent Security Plugins.
  • Experience with Event Driven Architecture Components such as Kafka Brokers and Zookeeper.
  • Understanding of data access, retention, and archiving processes.
  • Experience with Confluent Platform installation, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of messaging systems such as AMQ Kafka, IBM MQ, or Rabbit MQ.
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, GIT, Ansible, and Jenkins.
