Position: Middleware Architect (Apache Kafka)

Role Overview:

  • Required Certification: At least one relevant certification
  • Position: Senior Kafka Administrator Technical Manager
  • Core Competency: Kafka Apache Confluent, scripting in Unix or Python

Additional Skills: Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and CI/CD practices

Experience Required: 10 years

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Kafka administrator
  • Develop and manage Kafka infrastructure with a focus on availability, performance, security, and automation
  • Provide administrative support for Kafka infrastructure
  • Ensure support availability during designated business hours and rotational service periods
  • Maintain the availability, performance, and security of Kafka infrastructure
  • Design and implement automation solutions for Kafka infrastructure
  • Expertise in establishing Confluent Apache Kafka clusters
  • Experience with Apache Spark and Talend is advantageous
  • Knowledge in setting up clusters on bare metal and cloud-based virtual machines
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in Apache Kafka and Apache Spark as an Application or Solutions Architect
  • Address performance bottlenecks and possess a foundational understanding of capacity management
  • Engage in system analysis and software application programming
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and collaborate with diverse teams
  • Install and maintain components of the Confluent Platform, including Apache Kafka, Confluent Control Center, Confluent Schema Registry, Confluent Replicator, and Confluent Security Plugins
  • Administer Event Driven Architecture components
  • Manage large-scale multi-node Kafka cluster environments
  • Oversee Kafka security, perform high-level operational maintenance, and support upgrades
  • Familiarity with messaging systems and OpenShift cluster administration is beneficial
  • Knowledge of Java-based applications, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
  • Experience with messaging systems such as IBM MQ or Rabbit MQ, automation development, and tools like Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Ansible, and Jenkins
