POSITION OVERVIEW

Accountable for the comprehensive administration of the facility and/or Skilled Nursing Care Center, ensuring adherence to both corporate and governmental policies and regulations.

Orchestrates the activities of each department, structuring the programs within the confines of the operational budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivers exceptional Customer Service to residents, families, colleagues, and vendors, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
  • Oversees all facets of the facility's operations and initiatives. Establishes an organizational framework for the management of all facility programs and services.
  • Formulates and submits an annual operational budget to the Divisional Vice President of Operations. Continuously monitors budget adherence and reports on monthly discrepancies.
  • Enforces all facility and corporate policies and procedures through appropriate delegation of responsibilities to the facility staff.
  • Engages with individual residents and resident councils on behalf of the facility, encouraging their involvement in decision-making processes regarding facility programs and services when suitable.
  • Recruits supervisors and assesses all department heads within the facility. Responsible for the operational aspects concerning marketing strategies and achieving occupancy targets. Aids in the orientation of new residents.
  • Develops and executes a public relations marketing strategy. Acts as the facility's representative in the community to bolster its visibility and reputation.
  • Ensures the facility's compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations relevant to its operations.
  • Supervises department heads within the facility with appropriate delegation of authority.
  • Authorizes all procurement activities for the facility and provides recommendations regarding purchases as necessary.
  • Maintains updated emergency plans, including fire safety, disaster response, and service disruption protocols, conducting regular drills as required.
  • Promotes a high quality of life for residents through the support and enhancement of programs and services that align with Front Porch's Mission Statement.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
To successfully fulfill this role, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.   • Valid Retirement Care Facility Administrator's license issued by the California State Department of Social Services. Current Nursing Home Administrators License (if applicable).
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year institution in long-term care administration or a related health administration field; and a minimum of five years' experience as an Administrator in continuing care and/or retirement facilities.
  • Manages subordinate supervisors overseeing a total of 100 employees. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues.
  • Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Able to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Demonstrates a genuine interest in and concern for the care of the elderly. Possesses the ability to plan, organize, and implement new initiatives. Capable of fostering and maintaining positive working relationships with all facility personnel, residents, and the community. Exhibits leadership qualities and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Front Porch is dedicated to accident prevention by providing equipment with safety features, personal protective equipment for relevant tasks, and comprehensive safety training for all employees. All employees are expected to adhere to safe work practices to prevent injuries to themselves, residents, visitors, or other staff members.
  • Proficient in mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Capable of applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical scenarios.
  • Skilled in identifying problems, gathering data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Able to interpret a wide range of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form and manage several abstract and concrete variables.
