Job Summary:



As a seasoned Insurance Business Development Manager at Lockton, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and client satisfaction. Your primary focus will be on effective strategic account management of a designated portfolio, fostering strong relationships with existing clients, and identifying new business opportunities.

As a key member of our Birmingham Account Team, you will be responsible for developing and executing client engagement strategies, providing expert advice on insurance solutions, and driving revenue growth through sales and cross-selling initiatives.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Maintain and enhance Lockton's relationships with existing clients through proactive, creative, and ongoing contact initiatives
  • Proactively understand client requirements and needs to develop tailored solutions
  • Provide strategic planning and consulting advice to clients, including Requests for Proposal, vendor responses, analysis, and client reporting
  • Consult with clients on investment options, risk management strategies, and fee structures
  • Regularly communicate with clients to review large claims, abnormal utilization results, and monthly claims experience
  • Contribute to the establishment and attainment of revenue goals for existing and new business
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and operating plans within the area of specialty
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with carriers, broker servicing networks, and other providers
  • Oversee issue resolution between clients and vendors
  • Coordinate market selection for new and renewal business on designated accounts
  • Initiate new business report activities and generate new business opportunities through cross-selling
  • Negotiate program terms and costs
  • Assist with day-to-day administrative activities among those servicing client accounts
  • Provide information, concepts, techniques, and programs to department associates to enhance working knowledge
  • Mentor and train junior-level staff
  • Research and understand industry trends, product development, and government regulations


Requirements:




  • Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of P&C insurance brokerage and/or commercial lines account handling experience
  • Completed CPCU, CRIS, or other industry-specific designations (preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge of Commercial Property and Casualty coverage products and the marketplace
  • Ability to market and service multinational programs through an in-depth understanding of commercial insurance rating concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to successfully present data
  • Demonstrated professional, tactful negotiation, and persuasion skills
  • Focused on personal and team development with the ability to complete continuing education requirements as needed
  • Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting client and company information confidentiality
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and negotiation skills
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours to effectively service client and/or business needs


Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
