Job Details:
General OverviewThis role is essential in facilitating all procurement activities within the Marine Science Institute.
Key Responsibilities- Purchasing: Assist faculty and staff by gathering and documenting information necessary for creating purchase orders, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Act as a point of contact between the department, university purchasing office, and vendors to meet departmental procurement requirements. Prepare and manage various types of purchase orders.
- Procurement Card Management: Oversee, document, and process all procurement card transactions in line with applicable guidelines. Provide assistance to users regarding usage inquiries and exception requests.
- Accounts Payable: Handle the analysis and processing of petty cash reimbursements and employee reimbursements.
- Additional Duties: Support various tasks as needed, including overseeing the safety shoe program and ensuring compliance with shoe specifications.
A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of one year of experience in an administrative support role, or a high school diploma/GED accompanied by five years of clerical experience, including at least one year in an administrative support capacity.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or further education in procurement.
- Experience with the procurement processes within the State of Texas or higher education.
- Familiarity with finance and purchasing applications at the University of Texas at Austin.
$40,000 and above, based on qualifications.
Working Conditions- Standard office environment.
- Frequent use of a keyboard at a workstation.
- Manual dexterity required.
