Job Overview

Summary/Objective

The Operations Manager oversees terminal functions, ensuring effective customer engagement, scheduling, workforce management, budgeting, safety protocols, and achievement of production targets.

Compensation Range: $75,750 - $107,900

Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary liaison for customers.
  • Leads a team of supervisors and operational staff.
  • Schedules workforce and adjusts based on operational demands.
  • Completes daily tasks and collaborates with the general manager to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manages and coordinates yard operations.
  • Conducts interviews and selects candidates for employment.

Supervisory Role

This position includes direct supervision of staff.

Work Environment

Office settings that are well-lit and climate-controlled, alongside production areas, shop environments, or vehicles that provide adequate ventilation and protection from harsh weather.

Physical Requirements

Involves light physical activity with non-strenuous daily tasks of an administrative or technical nature. Sufficient manual dexterity is required to handle various items.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time role, typically requiring 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday during the day. Overtime may be necessary.

Travel Requirements

Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) may be required.

Education and Experience

A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited institution; or one to two years of relevant experience and/or training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.

Technical Skills

Intermediate proficiency in personal computer applications, including email, database management, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics.

Security Clearance

Must be eligible to obtain a TWIC badge (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
