In the capacity of Ramp Operations Assistant Manager, you will support the Ramp Manager in various aspects of railyard operations, including safety protocols, administrative tasks, maintenance, train performance, and productivity metrics.
A successful Ramp Operations Assistant Manager demonstrates critical thinking, is deadline-oriented, possesses analytical capabilities, and excels in communication to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Ramp Manager to ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved, including Train Performance, Lifts per Hour, and Cost per Hour.
Foster and enhance staff engagement and retention within the Ramp.
Establish collaborative relationships between ITS Technology and Logistics and local railroad officials.
Serve as the primary liaison between ITS Technology and Logistics and our clientele.
Uphold and enforce all company policies, regulations, and procedures.
Address violations with care and implement disciplinary measures when necessary.
Oversee and authorize terminal purchases while managing expenditures within budgetary constraints.
Review and approve weekly time and attendance records, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Work closely with Talent Acquisition to maintain full staffing levels in the Ramp.
Oversee the Training and Orientation process for all employees to ensure their ongoing success.
Provide Ramp Metrics and Reports as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned (both administrative and non-administrative).

1-3 years of prior management experience.
Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Experience in intermodal, transportation, logistics, or warehousing operations.
Strong work ethic.
Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
