Role Summary

The Operations Support Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining an efficient operational environment, emphasizing exceptional customer service. This position involves executing workflow strategies as directed by the Operations Manager. Key responsibilities include overseeing, directing, and scheduling facility personnel during daily operations, ensuring the safe and effective functioning of the facility, managing daily routing, inventory control, customer engagement, and collections. A commitment to outstanding customer service and a secure workplace is paramount.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager to manage daily operational activities.
  • Train and enforce adherence to company and safety regulations.
  • Implement and uphold company policies within the office environment.
  • Oversee facility opening and closing procedures.
  • Manage the fleet to ensure vehicles are maintained and operational as per schedule.
  • Prepare, assess, and balance employee and delivery schedules.
  • Foster customer relationships and address any issues that arise.
  • Oversee facility inventory and asset management.
  • Supervise warehouse operations, including loading and unloading of trucks using forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to employees.
  • Participate in the recruitment and termination processes.
  • Address workplace issues proactively.
  • Develop and recommend strategies for enhancing workplace efficiency, safety, and goal attainment.
  • Manage correspondence via email and phone.
  • Act as a liaison among managers, customers, and staff.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Operations Manager during their absence, including decision-making and conducting meetings.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

  • Forklift certification is mandatory.

Supervisory Duties

Responsible for overseeing facility staff.

Work Environment

The Operations Support Supervisor operates in a combination of office and warehouse settings, as well as on truck routes. This role may involve exposure to various environmental conditions, ranging from controlled indoor environments to diverse outdoor weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use hands and fingers for operating equipment and communication devices.
  • Capability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand for up to two hours continuously.
  • Capacity to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual acuity to read printed materials.
  • Able to hear and comprehend speech at normal levels.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both in person and over the phone.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel may be required.

Education and Experience

  • A high school diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in customer service.
  • A minimum of one year in store operations or management.
  • At least two years of experience operating a forklift.
