You will oversee mechanical engineering tasks, including development, integration, verification, and documentation, all while adhering to project budgets and timelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate operational and performance specifications to propose detailed mechanical design solutions that align with project requirements, considering factors such as electro-mechanical integration, cooling systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, spatial constraints, safety, and spare part needs.
  • Collaborate with project and systems engineers to review specifications and standards, identifying and assessing interface requirements between mechanical components and other system elements.
  • Establish interface requirements for mechanical subsystems that are consistent with overall system designs.
  • Conduct value engineering assessments of design alternatives to identify the most effective solutions, balancing fidelity, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Create comprehensive mechanical designs through detailed analysis and breakdown of top-level operational and performance criteria.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks to prevent unforeseen issues and control costs.
  • Execute subsystem testing, integration testing, and acceptance testing of design outputs.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues effectively.
  • Assist in the installation, acceptance, and deployment of training devices to various locations.
  • Coordinate with management, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, and testing teams to ensure products meet functional specifications and customer expectations.
  • Deliverables will include proposals, reports, specifications, design documents, and testing protocols as required for the project.
  • Utilize computer-aided engineering and design software as necessary to complete tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill the essential responsibilities effectively. The qualifications outlined below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for success:
