Job Overview:
The Mechanical Integrity Engineer III plays a crucial role in supporting the Mechanical Integrity program across the organization, focusing on existing assets and initiatives related to new construction. This position aims to enhance operational efficiency, boost capacity, and drive improvements in the overall performance of the facilities.
This role requires expertise in pressure vessels and familiarity with ASME Section VIII standards.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and conduct mechanical integrity engineering assessments for stakeholders.
- Assist the engineering team with Suitability for Service (SFS) and Fitness for Service (FFS) evaluations on enterprise equipment and components.
- Coordinate and plan mechanical integrity inspections, analyses, and data management in collaboration with Process Safety Engineers, Operations, Technical Services, and field personnel.
- Work alongside the Mechanical Integrity team to implement efficient mechanical integrity programs and inspections.
- Advise management on the status of technical evaluations and stay informed on industry developments through meetings and research.
- Ensure data integrity, reliability, and accessibility within the group, while organizing and updating production information as it is received.
- Compile and communicate data to engineers, operations leaders, and other stakeholders, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant data.
- Assist with regulatory determinations as necessary and perform other related duties as assigned, adhering to Environmental, Health, and Safety Guidelines.
Required Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, clients, and external contacts through various means.
- Proficient in using personal computers and Microsoft Office applications, with a willingness to learn company-specific software.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate a team-oriented mindset while maintaining a goal-driven approach with high integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to implement innovative ideas effectively.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline from an accredited institution, or a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required. A minimum of four (4) years of diverse engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical sector is preferred.
Preferred qualifications include a solid understanding of OSHA regulations, CFR parts 192 and 195, and NBIC standards. Knowledge of ASME Section VIII Div-1 & 2, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8 piping codes, as well as API-510, 570, 576, and 653 standards is also desirable.
