Job Summary:

The Executive Sous Chef is a key member of the culinary team at Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort and Spa. This role is responsible for supporting the Executive Chef in maintaining and improving the culinary operations, ensuring a positive guest experience, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and improve daily culinary functions, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Supervise and develop the culinary team, providing guidance and support to ensure exceptional service and quality.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and excellent guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement creative menu items that meet Hyatt brand standards and appeal to diverse guest preferences.
  • Plan and coordinate special events, holiday functions, and catering services to exceed guest expectations.
  • Manage kitchen staff, including scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating, and hiring.
  • Lead and coach the team to achieve exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results.
  • Monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality to ensure financial performance and control.
  • Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment.
  • Organize and facilitate departmental meetings, training, and goals setting.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Executive Sous Chef or similar role in a high-end hospitality setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, with the ability to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
