Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement medical policies, programs, and services
- Strategically plan and prepare for medical operations
- Assess the personnel, equipment, training, and facilities necessary for establishing and maintaining medical programs or operations
- Supervise medical operations and lead healthcare personnel
- Analyze test results and evaluate examination findings
- Deliver, oversee, and direct clinical services in both inpatient and outpatient environments
Your journey from a new recruit to a proficient Airman in this field begins with comprehensive training. This includes hands-on experience and academic credits towards a degree.
- Basic Military Training: 8.5 weeks
- Location: Maxwell AFB AL
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet specific criteria concerning their background, health, and standards set forth by the Air Force, Department of Defense, and federal regulations.
- A Bachelor’s degree with a secured placement in medical school or a medical degree with a secured residency placement, or possess Board Certification.
- Completion of Officer Training School (OTS), Air Force Academy (AFA), or Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC)
- Must be at least 17 years old and not exceed the age of 42 at the time of enlistment
