Financial Director

The AC Hotel by Marriott Pasadena is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of hotel accounting, including guest service, accounting/budgeting, asset protection, internal control, and human resources.
Key Responsibilities:- Guest Satisfaction: Ensure that Accounting standards and procedures are followed, and direct Accounting staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage while managing the department budget.
- Human Resources: Direct recruiting, hiring, training, development, and retention of a motivated and efficient Accounting staff, and ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
- Profitability: Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the Accounting annual budget, business plan, and objectives to meet/exceed expectations.
- Life Safety/Risk Management: Assist the General Manager with hotel life safety, direct and promote an accident prevention program to minimize liabilities and related expenses.
- Asset Management: Ensure all hotel associates follow the Company's accounting policies and practices when performing financial transactions, and work with management to ensure associates are properly trained in cash handling procedures and credit card transactions.
- Leadership: Direct all facets of Accounting, keep abreast of brand standards and the competition's products and strengths to continually improve revenues and profit margins while maintaining quality.
- Communication: Ensure all communication containing Company, hotel, brand, and guest information is consistent with privacy policies, practices, and regulations.
- Administration: Direct the compilation and analysis of various corporate reports and property reports to provide management with accurate information and to comply with corporate policies and procedures as well as government laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- A four-year college degree or equivalent education in advanced accounting principles and practices.
- Five or more years of employment in a related position, preferably in hotel accounting and hospitality industry practices.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting and budgeting, with the ability to compile facts/figures and analyze information that involves data manipulation or interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, with the ability to travel when needed.
Working Conditions & Physical Effort:
Work is performed at a desk in an interior office, with close vision required for speaking, listening, completing documents, processing requests, and operating office equipment.
