Job Title: Claims Team Leader

As a Claims Team Leader at Chubb, you will be responsible for supervising and guiding the activities of Claims Representatives in the investigation and settlement of claims. Your primary goal will be to ensure prompt, efficient, and fair claims services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review initial notice of claim, determine extent and validity of coverage, and screen for qualification for flow process.
  • Determine measures to be taken in absence of coverage or questionable cases.
  • Assign work to subordinate Claims Representatives and determine and delegate settlement authority.
  • Retain higher settlement authority beyond scope of subordinates and refer cases beyond scope of authority to Unit Managers.
  • Supervise investigations and oversee settlement or disposition of claims by assuring prompt contact of insureds and claimants, timely investigation, and equitable settlement.
  • Establish loss reserves to reflect probable Company obligation and review and modify reserves as necessary.
  • Initiate proceedings for subrogation or recovery and negotiate and authorize settlement.
  • Evaluate work of subordinate Claims Reps on open cases and provide direction and counsel by identifying areas of improvement needed.
  • Participate in human resources processes affecting subordinates in assigned unit, conduct Performance Evaluations, implement training and development, and participate in salary administration process.
Requirements:
  • High level of technical claims knowledge and competence as evidenced by a minimum of 7 years claims handling experience in Auto and General Liability.
  • Multiple jurisdictional claims handling experience with the requisite Adjuster Licenses desired.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement general business and personnel management practices as evidenced by successful completion of management and technical programs, completion of college-level curriculum, or equivalent related practical work experience.
  • Ability to lead change by addressing points of resistance at the team and/or individual level and independently evaluate and implement claims management Best practices through coaching, training, and mentoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide consistent superior service to customers and act as a role model for the unit or office.
