Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outreach and Recruitment Specialist to join our team at Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD). As a key member of our Youth Services team, you will play a critical role in recruiting and engaging with potential youth participants, developing relationships with local schools and community organizations, and supporting the implementation of our programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit and engage with potential youth participants for our Youth Services Programs, ensuring effective outreach and recruitment strategies are in place.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Boston Public high schools and middle schools, identifying opportunities for outreach and recruitment.
  • Work closely with program managers to identify, develop, and maintain an outreach/recruitment calendar, ensuring alignment with program goals and objectives.
  • Monitor activities to ensure effective implementation, identifying schools, events, and community organizations for outreach and recruitment.
  • Attend events and maintain recruitment lists for follow-up calls and outreach activities.
  • Support the identification and development of collaborations/partnerships with social-service agencies and non-traditional partners to increase awareness of our programs.
  • Assist with ordering program supplies, preparing supplies for outreach/recruitment, and maintaining inventory.
  • In collaboration with Intake Specialists, ensure full completion of applications for youth, implementing and tracking follow-up strategies.
  • Connect participants' guardians, school counselors, social workers, or other partners with Youth Services Case Managers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and one to three years of experience in human services required.
  • A bachelor's degree in education, social work, or other related human services field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the greater Boston area community, social service agencies, and non-traditional partners.
  • Willingness to travel and work extensively in diverse neighborhoods.
  • Knowledge and skill using electronic databases and spreadsheets, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Ability to work with groups and individuals of diverse economic, social, and cultural backgrounds.
