Key Responsibilities for the Director of Institutional Sales

  • Lead fundraising efforts for both fund structures and direct investment opportunities, with a focus on institutional investors across the East Coast.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, and other key allocators.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve capital-raising targets and expand the investor base.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including investment professionals and marketing, to ensure effective communication of the firm's value proposition and investment strategies.
  • Manage the entire fundraising lifecycle, from initial contact through to due diligence, negotiation, and close.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and meetings to enhance brand visibility and thought leadership.

Director of Institutional Sales Should Have

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in institutional sales within the investment management industry.
  • Proven track record of raising capital from institutional investors, ideally for funds and direct investments in renewable infrastructure, private equity, or private credit.
  • Strong existing relationships with institutional investors across the East Coast region.
  • Experience working at a placement agent is highly advantageous.
  • Deep understanding of the investment landscape, particularly within the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to drive fundraising success and meet ambitious targets.
