Transportation Coordinator

Position Overview: This position is responsible for assisting in the cost-efficient execution and administration of all internal coordinated freight (dry, refrigerated and liquid tanker) within manufacturing operations, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Key Accountabilities:
Transportation Management
Coordinating and monitoring all freight operations to ensure timely and accurate pickup and delivery of finished goods, raw materials and supplies that meets production planning objectives.
Managing the transportation of fluid by-products (non-milk) to best serve plant production and customer requirements. Investigating and resolving issues to ensure on-time pick-up and delivery times.
Developing and documenting business processes that support exceptional performance of our freight operations.
Carrier Management
Documenting and reporting on carrier performance. Using Transportation Management Systems to consolidate orders for the efficient use of carrier capacity while meeting delivery requirements of customers and plant production.
Assisting in the investigation and documentation of carrier activity on freight claims and assist in processing supplier complaints against carriers.
Provide carrier rates to Customer Service or Sales.
Cost Management
Identifying and recommending improvements resulting in cost reduction opportunities.
Handling inquiries from stakeholders such as plants, team members, shippers, brokers, terminals, and customers and to avoid pickup or delivery issues and maintain cost controls, all in an appropriate manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in Transporation, logistics, or related field. 0-2 years of job-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in transportation, logistics, or related field. 2+ years of job related experience.
Physical Setting: Job Setting: Hybrid position with occasional travel up to 10%
