Position Purpose: Reports directly to the Outreach Supervisor. Conducts presentations throughout the community on the NJ Family Care Program. Will meet with groups or individuals. Provides courteous and accurate information on NJ Family Care and can assist beneficiaries in providing program information, and enrollment and eligibility assistance for potential and existing NJ Family Care beneficiaries. Processes eligibility applications and determines eligibility for the NJ Family Care program and refers beneficiaries that are potentially eligible for Medicaid to DMAHS for review. Enters eligibility information into a web-based computer system and references other NJ-specific databases as appropriate. Follows up with beneficiaries with correspondence, performs file updates as information comes in, and assesses service/information.

About the Role
Being able to switch from task to task on a greater level than the current HBC.
Support the research process unit for the SBE (state-based exchange)
Be available to attend Outreach events.
Determine eligibility for NJ Family Care according to the NJFamily Care regulations/guidelines by reviewing documentation to accurately enter data into a web-based computer system and following procedures for running automated eligibility rules; prepare correspondence for missing information as appropriate; make outbound calls to obtain, clarify, or validate the information.
Seasoned processor with strong knowledge of all systems used for processing – SME (subject matter expert)
Process applications while maintaining an error rate of 5% or below.
Assist in the call center when needed.
Work independently on projects.
Assist/train new staff when needed.
Maintain good attendance and punctuality.

Adhere to changes in policy and procedure - integrally uphold them amongst peers despite your opinion of them.
Understand some responsibilities will evolve with time.
Conduct presentations to educate consumers about the NJFamilyCare program to the public.
Assist consumers with completing new and renewal applications.
Provide coverage at community events and health fairs where program education may occur.
Provide clear, complete, accurate, and objective information based on a full understanding of program requirements.
Build relationships with the community and advocacy groups.
Minimum Experience Requirements:
Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
Two (2) minimum experience in a healthcare field.
Knowledge and operational experience in Medicaid and/or CHIP programs are a plus.
General knowledge of public health, managed care, human services systems, and local and statewide political systems preferred.
Experience working with people representing diverse backgrounds preferred.
Required skills/abilities:
Knowledge of Medicaid and managed care programs.
Ability to problem solve through analysis and ongoing feedback.
Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines, flexibility under pressure.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Bilingual capabilities a plus
Ability to interpret and apply program policies and procedures as appropriate.
Ability to use basic arithmetic procedures to determine the household size and income and determine program eligibility.
Ability to apply logical reasoning to make timely, effective decisions.

For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. The pay for this role is $20.00 per hour.
