Senior Imaging Informatics Support Analyst-

Job Summary:

  • The Senior Imaging Informatics Analyst on the Clinical Imaging Team is responsible for management of the clinical imaging systems, modality connectivity, and day-to-day support of the end-users of the various radiology and cardiology Imaging systems. The Analyst analyzes, develops, installs, implement, and supports all components of the imaging information systems and solutions, as well as integration of the system with system interfaces, hardware, and software. The Analyst will proactively address any system issues. The Analyst works with the Clinical Imaging team to ensure maintenance and integrity of PACS Services. They act as a technical resource to coordinate and provide support for all new and current applications as well as provides support software upgrades to clinical systems. The Analyst conducts assessments of the imaging environment, identifies implications for system implementations, acts as a facilitator for changes, and maintains an inventory database. The Senior Imaging Informatics Analyst will implement training plans, and construct content for education for clinical, clerical, and support staff. The Analyst will be primarily assigned to the Penn Medicine facilities for supporting the end users on the various clinical imagining systems but does maintain systems enterprise wide. It is expected that an Imaging Informatics Analyst is able to work independently, without the needs for direct onsite supervision, and be an active member in both radiology and cardiology services.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily Information Systems and Modality System Monitoring for both PACS and CPACS systems:
  • 1. Daily monitoring of scheduled jobs.
  • 2. Notify vendors of any problems and work collaboratively to solve those problems.
  • 3. Provide downtime solutions and support for image transmission when necessary.
  • User Management:
  • 1. Adding/Changing/Deleting Users, including putting new users into appropriate user groups, granting appropriate permissions, changing user profiles, deleting users; and maintaining appropriate documentation for all user management functions.
  • Study Monitoring and Patient Information Management:
  • 1. Correct studies, when images are in the wrong study, when study belongs in the wrong patient; when patient merge, study re-allocation, or image re-allocation is required.
  • 2. Correct study using Patient Management Tool, when patient information is wrong, for creating new patients, and for changing patient information.
  • Training:
  • 1. Develop and provide user training.
  • 2. Train new users and provide re training for all users as needed while maintaining materials and records (attendance, etc.).
  • 3. Participate in System Administrator training provided by Vendors, remaining current in new versions and techniques.
  • Advanced System Configuration Changes and Modifications:
  • 1. Install and setup workstation hardware supplied by the organization, including physicians' PCs.
  • 2. Notify, plan, and coordinate installation with Vendors to add modality connections, including interfaces to new modalities.
  • 3. Notify and coordinate with Vendors when moves/changes to modalities' DICOM storage locations are required.
  • 4. Plan and coordinate software upgrades with Vendors.
  • 5. Install and maintain other information software (e.g., PS360, TeraRecon, etc.) to workstations;
  • 6. Track and notify Vendors when modality software upgrades or other related information system software upgrades are required.
  • Trouble-shooting and Problem Solving:
  • 1. Provide viable options to resolve issues
  • 2. Analyze and notify Vendors when hardware problems associated with Vendor supplied hardware require Vendor involvement and resolution.
  • 3. Analyze and solve hardware problems related to hardware supplied by the organization.
  • 4. Analyze and work with Vendor personnel to resolve software communication problems, including modality communication problems, RIS communication problems, etc.
  • Technical Documentation and Management Reporting:
  • 1. Develop and implement policies and procedures, in cooperation with Information Systems, to assure that system monitoring and effective backup procedures are followed.
  • Customer service:
  • 1. Deal directly with client either by telephone, electronically or face to face.
  • 2. Respond promptly to client's inquiries and resolve client's complaints.
  • 3. Obtain and evaluate all relevant information to handle inquiries and complaints.
  • 4. Direct requests and unresolved issues to the designated resource.
  • 5. Record client interactions, transactions and action taken.
  • 6. Follow up on client interactions when required.
  • Communication/Collaboration:
  • 1. Establish and own certain vendor relationships.
  • 2. Work and run small projects without manager oversight.
  • 3. Actively solicit ideas, opinions, and concerns to efficiently and effectively accomplish objectives targeted business outcomes.
  • 4. Work with a wide range of teams displaying respect for diversity utilizing strengths of team members to achieve optimal performance and share lessons learned and credit for team accomplishments.
  • 5. Conduct discussions with and write memoranda to all levels of users, colleagues, and peer groups
  • 6. Responsible for taking secondary on-call within the PACS group as assigned
  • 7. Responsible for taking Single point of contact (SPOC) on-call as assigned.
  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization.

Credentials:

  • CIIP, PARCA, CompTIA A+, CAPM (Preferred).

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • 8+ years of experience working in the imaging field such as a Healthcare vendor or in a hospital's Radiology, Cardiology or IT department or relevant Radiology Clinical Experience.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree may substitute for some experience.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to use Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and in a group setting, depending on what the situation requires
  • Experience working with a PACS or CPACS system
