Job Title: Clinical Statistical Analyst A

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Statistical Analyst A to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying statistical and machine learning methods to multi-institutional clinical and biological data to help develop approaches and tools for learning healthcare systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply statistical and machine learning methods to multi-institutional clinical and biological data
  • Develop approaches and tools for learning healthcare systems
  • Contribute to the development of novel statistical and computational learning methods
  • Work closely with faculty and staff of the Departments of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Informatics
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics or Biostatistics and 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Fluency with standard statistical learning techniques, such as logistic regression, mixed-effect modeling, and causal inference required
  • A strong passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data required
  • Ability to work independently and apply critical thinking and sound judgment required
  • A flexible analytic approach that allows for results at varying levels of precision required
  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner required
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Statistics or Biostatistics preferred
  • Fluency in coding in R preferred
  • Experience with clinical or biomedical research preferred
  • Experience with statistical prediction or statistical method development a plus
  • Familiarity with formal software development methods and/or reproducible scientific workflows (e.g. Jupyter notebooks or Rmarkdown) and version control (e.g. git) a plus
  • Experience manipulating and analyzing complex, large volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources a plus
