The Analytical Solutions Division (ASD) of Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc. has an immediate need for a full-time Physical Security Management Analyst - Hybrid in NCR. The potential candidate will interpret various executive-level Defense, Military, Congressional, and Operational policies that inform Army Physical Security programs. This requires someone who is a self-starter, has strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and thrives in a cross-functional setting. The potential candidate must have knowledge in physical security concepts and operations, be responsible to updating existing physical security regulations that prescribe requirements, measures, and standards for the protection of installations and sensitive assets. Will conduct research, draft, and coordinate with stakeholders and publishing officials for Army-wide implementation. Some regulations will require detailed guidance on how to conduct physical security inspections and surveys, manage physical security individual reliability programs, oversight electronic security systems/intrusion detection systems, managed restricted access control for installations and stand-alone facilities, and manage security forces. The ideal candidate will ensure regulatory guidance is accurate, complete, meets DoD-level policy intent and is supported by or supports corresponding DoD/Service policies and
procedures. This candidate will require excellent written communication skills.
Anticipated annual salary range: $120,000 to $125,000. Offer may vary depending on experience, skill set, and location.
What you will do as a Physical Security Management Analyst (may not be all inclusive):
  • Review, analyze, research, and develop policy and procedure documents, according to client requirements
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with publication stakeholders, e.g., legal counsel and subject matter experts, to author, revise, and / or update information and client publications, as applicable
  • Be an active listener and able to clearly read, interpret, and present sustainable recommendations to issues associated with physical security, law enforcement, antiterrorism, and physical security equipment or technological functional areas
  • Manage client publications, to include coordinating updates according to client schedule
  • Produce, deliver, and archive finished publications
  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, decompose high-level information into details, and abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding
  • Maintain knowledge on current Department of Defense, client community, and internal organizational goals; and serve as the advisor on preparation of all types of correspondence, to include but not limited to waivers and exceptions to policy response to congressional inquiries
  • Perform action officer responsibilities by leading and attending meetings, preparing correspondence, staffing and action plans and submit/review taskers in task management tool

Physical Security Management Analyst Experience and Skill Required:
  • Must be U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain & maintain Secret Security Clearance
  • Travel up to 25%
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years' work-related experience in Physical Security; degree major in Security Management, English or Communications, or STEM
  • Demonstrated policy writing at the DoD or Federal level or has implemented higher level policies at a headquarters, installation, or stand-alone facility
  • Ensure consistency of expression, logical organization and development, readability, appropriate formatting and conformity of grammar and style to client standards
  • Must have excellent organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated skills in critical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated foundational knowledge in Physical Security Concepts Standards, Countermeasures, and Physical Security Planning and Implementation
