Responsibilities

  • Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department to achieve the department's goals
  • Oversee the accounting operations of related companies
  • Oversee insurance and contractor licenses with CSLB
  • Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts including assisting with AP Review
  • Ensure Fixed Asset Schedules are maintained
  • Ensure inventory counts are performed
  • Review monthly bank reconciliations
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Issue timely and complete financial statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of the consolidated annual report
  • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts & management reports
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit, review or compilation
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close process
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, external audits and reviews
  • Additional controller duties as necessary
