SUMMARY: The goal of this position is to support the Director of Human Resources and the Human Resources team in tasks including: Manage the HR/IS systems; assist with new hire processing; meeting and event planning; job description development; perform research relevant to employee issues and assist in other areas within the Human Resources department as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the HR/IS systems and assist with HR/IS automation and data entry.
  • Assists and meets with new hires for processing and on boarding new employees to the district.
  • Participates in job description development, as well as other Human Resources related projects.
  • Processes and coordinates the summer recreation program.
  • Processes the micro-credentials for approval, ensures completion and payment.
  • Assure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws.
  • Work with the human resources department as a team to execute key HR programs: Reward and Recognition and New Hire Orientation
  • Assist in maintaining staff employee files and perform other administrative duties as needed.
  • Assist employees in certification process and qualifications.
  • Completes and processes surveys and various state reports in a timely manner.
  • Completes and processes the WWEA teacher seniorty list
  • Assists in communicating messages from Human Resources to District employees through various channels (e.g., Intranet, e-mail, phone, letter, on-site, etc.)
  • Processes Faith's Law and employment verifications.
  • Reports to the Director of Human Resources
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate's degree required
  • One to three years of experience in Human Resources
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving and multitasking skills
  • Above average oral and written communication skills
  • Maintain positive attitude at all times
  • Demonstrate effectiveness in working independently and in a team environment
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records
  • Knowledge of Illinois certification/licensure requirements
  • Strong proficiency with Google, Microsoft based technology programs and experience with HR/IS systems and Applicant Tracking systems
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Sitting, standing, bending and walking
