Investment Specialist

Position Summary

The Investment Specialist position is responsible for portfolio management and trading at Edge Financial Advisors. This is a vital role at the firm and requires great attention to detail. The position supports all our advisors in developing and implementing investment strategies for our clients. The role requires a unique combination of operational skills and investment knowledge.

The ideal candidate must be team-oriented and possess strong interactive skills. The position requires the ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks/projects, and work in a fast-paced environment. Candidate should have excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with advisors. Tech savvy and the ability to learn new programs quickly are essential to success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Management

·       Coordinate all aspects involved with managing client portfolios including strategy development, trade execution, and ongoing portfolio monitoring

·       Develop and implement investment strategies based on thorough analysis

·       Monitor and evaluate the performance of investments in client portfolios

·       Be an expert and go-to resource for Advisors regarding portfolio strategies

·       Stay updated on industry trends and developments, including changes in regulations and economic conditions that may impact investment decisions

Trading Operations

·       Seek to maximize the utilization of trading and rebalancing systems including trade execution, managing security settings, allocation models, advisor preferences, portfolio and account settings, etc.

·       Support the Advisors in rebalancing and cash invest/raise efforts

·       Identify portfolio rebalancing opportunities or other transactions that may benefit our clients

Client Communication

·       Build and maintain strong relationships with our clients to maintain open communication about current investments and convey potential opportunities

·       Provide insightful recommendations to clients regarding their investment strategies, considering their risk tolerance and long-term financial goals

Knowledge & Skills

·       Excellent analytical, consultative, communication, and judgment skills

·       In-depth knowledge of financial markets, investment vehicles, and asset classes

·       Knowledge of Structured Notes is highly preferred

·       Highly flexible and adaptable to change

·       Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects concurrently

·       Motivated and self-driven individual with strong time management skills

·       Strong interpersonal skills

·       Proficient with Microsoft applications

Education and Experience Requirements

·       Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3 years experience in investment management or equivalent education and experience

·       Advanced knowledge of ETFs, Mutual Funds, Stocks, Fixed Income Products, and Options

·       Prior experience with Structured Notes preferable

·       Professional certifications (CFA, CIMA) are preferred but not required
