Procurement Specialist

We are hiring for a direct hire Procurement Specialist for a family owned company in Akron. The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing and coordinating the procurement of goods and services to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to negotiate contracts, manage inventory levels, and support overall supply chain efficiency.
Salary: $45 - $65k
M-F 1st shift position
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals.
- Source and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, and establish long-term partnerships.
- Manage the entire procurement process, including issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and resolving any issues that arise.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the supply chain and production teams to ensure the availability of materials.
- Analyze market trends and pricing to optimize procurement costs.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including contracts, invoices, and purchase orders.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related roles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
