About the Role

Famous Supply is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our National Account team. As a key member of our purchasing team, you will be responsible for procuring materials from vendors and ensuring adequate inventory levels are maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Place purchase orders based on planning and forecasting with assigned vendors
  • Maintain sufficient levels of inventory at branches to meet customer needs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key vendor contacts
  • Work closely with the National Account customer service team and branch CSMs
  • Create ad-hoc reporting as needed for product buy lines
  • Evaluate new suppliers and source materials as needed
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist with vendor returns and credits for damaged or defective material
  • Assist other buyers with projects as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of purchasing experience
  • Prioritization and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Negotiating skills
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of previous purchasing experience
  • Building industry experience and requisite product knowledge
  • Experience using Epicor Eclipse ERP
