Description

Purpose of the Job:

Ensures that all incoming product to Imperial is accurately and appropriately processed electronically and physically. While not handling incoming product, position consists of working in the warehouse assisting with picking, packing and preparing products for shipment.

Job Functions and Performance Standards:

Receiving Duties and Responsibilities

  • Unload/Sign for/Inspect physical product that arrives on the dock per individual product requirements.
  • Mark/provide signage for incoming product per individual product requirements.
  • Physically allocate product to the appropriate individuals/areas of the building.
  • Process cost receipts for purchased product and cost/warehouse entry receipts for inventoried product.
  • Maintain logs for non-purchased/miscellaneous product that arrives and supply information contacts.
  • Load outgoing palletized shipments onto trucks for pick up.
  • Monitor guests/vendors/contractors entering the building through the dock entrances.
  • Be able to hear the dock entry bell and to go to the dock to answer at any time during shift.
  • Maintain general organization/cleanliness of dock area.
  • Able to work unsupervised as well as part of a team, maintain good communication with other employees regarding relevant incoming items.
  • Follows established SOPs and Work Instructions.
Distribution Duties and Responsibilities
  • Pick daily orders
  • Pack and quality check orders that have been picked and delivered to the Distribution Line
  • Prepare LTL freight shipments for pickup
  • Process domestic and international shipments through a variety of carrier systems
  • Verify and electronically enter jobs (product) into warehouse system
  • Physically put skids into bay locations using a reach truck or forklift
  • Pick items using a hi-lo truck or an order picker
  • Count and consolidate items in the warehouse
  • Participate in and carry out basic inventory duties, including cycle counting.
  • Follows established SOPs and Work Instructions.

Requirements

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Hi-lo license and/or valid driver's license
Experience:
  • Two years' warehouse experience and previous forklift experience preferred
Skills:
  • Computer Skills - Knowledge and ability to use computerized software and systems relevant to warehousing is desirable.
  • Knowledge of basic warehouse procedures like receiving and storing.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Able to carry out basic computations in arithmetic
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with coworkers, vendors, customers and other team members
