PURVIS Systems is seeking highly motivated, task oriented individual to be responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of our Fire Station Alerting System. The ideal candidate is a problem solver, cable to working independently and part of a team. We are seeking individuals with strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills; attention to detail, and an individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The Electronics Technician assembles finished products using sub-assemblies, parts and fasteners. Fabricates and assembly cable harnesses, wire electrical chassis and electrical boxes. Conduct Sub-system checkouts and device setup. Device setup requires some working knowledge of basic IP address setup. Assist production team in packing of outgoing hardware systems.

Component level repair a plus (Soldering skills on surface mount PCBs)

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include:

    • Test, troubleshoot and repair project equipment: perform production assembly and test of manufacturing test failures; troubleshoot and repair all field returns; support engineering with testing of new products; support the development of new manufacturing test hardware; and complete necessary paperwork and maintain reports.
    • Troubleshoot malfunctions in electronic or microprocessor based systems and components. Analyze test results to troubleshoot equipment failures; identify or analyze defective units or parts and indicate necessary corrective actions; apply technical knowledge to develop troubleshooting procedures and solutions; gather and integrate information from various sources (manufacturer manuals, schematics, instrument readings and people) to troubleshoot problems.
    • Work with tools and testing equipment. Must safely and effectively operate high precision measuring tools (i.e., electronic scales, voltmeters, micrometers); soldering irons; and non-power tools (i.e., pliers, screwdrivers).
    • Must be able to lift, pull, or carry items of approximate eight of 40 lbs.
    • Travel to customer sites to assist in initial testing and cutover support. Trips are typically 2 to 5 days in duration.
Qualifications
    • High School, Technical School in credited electronic technology or apprenticeship program in related field of electrical or electronic support.
    • 3-5 years of experience in electronic technical work.
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and customers.
    • Ability to work independently and flexibility to support project requirement.
    • Able to travel.
