Electromechanical Systems Technician

Position Overview

SAIC is looking for an Engineering Technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in engineering tasks including design, testing, evaluation, modification, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems. This may involve electronic circuits, photonics, and logic systems.
  • Utilize schematics, diagrams, and both written and verbal instructions to conduct testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Help identify solutions to technical issues. Gather, organize, and manage technical data effectively.
  • Generate engineering documentation, including reports and various types of drawings (sketches, flow charts, diagrams, schematics, etc.).
  • Supervision: Operate with minimal oversight. Routine tasks require no guidance, while new projects or specialized assignments will receive general instructions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Associate's Degree in a relevant field and five (5) years of related experience; equivalent years of experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Capability to obtain up to SECRET level clearance is required.
  • Experience in production cable assembly.
  • Familiarity with wiring electronic components.
  • Proficient in interpreting schematics and troubleshooting based on technical drawings.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience or knowledge of MK695 torpedo testing systems.
