Job Description:

The Business Development Associate is responsible for supporting ERG Inside Sales/Business Development services. They support the Business Development team process development, management, and workflows to support efforts within a team environment and track opportunities through the ERG sales lifecycle. They support the ERG sales team in exceeding quarterly and yearly sales goals as well as other corporate objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Work diligently with the ERG team to make sure ERG is meeting or exceeding our client's needs.
  • Provide administrative support to the Business Development team
  • Develop understanding of ERG's core services and capabilities.
  • Learn the sales cycle for both early and late phase study opportunities.
  • Manage feasibility process for Business Development Team for timely completion
  • Track and file CDA's to full execution
  • Responsible for accurately entering and updating Devana entries
  • Track prospecting activity within Devana.
  • Track the progression of opportunities at the site level through the sales cycle and start-up process in Devana.
  • Work with ADs to ensure data necessary for Contracting & Budget team negotiations is available in Devana
  • Attend client meetings both via TC, F2F and at conferences as needed
  • Additionally, this role may encompass responsibilities beyond those outlined above, as required by the evolving needs of the organization. This job description is intended as a foundation and may be subject to expansion or modification to best suit ERG's objectives.
Working Conditions and Other Information

Equipment and Material Used
  • Standard office equipment including computer, copier, fax, telephone, etc.
Physical Tasks
  • Sitting and viewing computer screens for long periods of time
  • Extensive repetitive hand/wrist movements (telephone console and computer keyboard)
  • Lifting (up to 30 lbs)
Environmental Demands and Potential Hazards
  • Exposure to hazards from fluorescent lighting, video screens, computers, copiers, faxes, etc.
  • High levels of stress for long periods of time
  • Environment will range from business office setting to clinical areas such as inpatient unit and clinical screening areas. The position requires contact with biological samples, individuals with potentially infectious diseases and with toxic, harmful, or potentially hazardous compounds, solutions, and medications. Noise level can range from quiet to moderate volume.

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education and experience
    • 2 plus years industry experience ; Bachelor's Degree preferred
    • Emerging relationship building and communication skills for both internal and external customers.
    • Proficiency in Devana or Salesforce, Power Point, Excel, Word and other ERG systems.
  • Requirements
    • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal)
    • Basic computer skills to include Word, Excel, as well as proprietary applications unique to the clinical research industry (such as Study Manager)
    • Organized. Attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Problem solver. Creative.
    • Knowledge base of clinical research with application to multiple Therapeutic Areas.
    • Builds and maintains excellent relationships with internal and external customers through trust, respect, and consistency.
    • Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
    • Must be flexible to work extended hours, including weekends and evenings, to respond to the clients' needs and meet deadlines.
    • Advanced computer skills (we cannot make this about Devana only)
    • Travel to sites, client meetings and conferences as required.
    • Requires valid driver's license.
    • Must be able to work well in a time-pressured environment and be able to balance competing priorities.
