Overview

Provides various support functions at multiple levels for the claims department. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.

Responsibilities
  • Create and submit EDI First Report of Injury and Subsequent Reports in our EDI programs to be
  • Research Workers Compensation Claims in applicable claim system for information needed to complete EDI reports. This would include reviewing the claim and determining what information needs to be reported based on the State requirements.
  • Review state websites for filing information, potential penalties or fines. Analyze any EDI errors and make necessary corrections as stipulated by the state requirements.
  • Complies all data using state EDI reporting requirements and time frames.
  • Remain current on EDI rules and requirements, as well as IAIABC release updates.
  • Role will typically be dedicated to specific state forms generation
  • Communicate with claims adjusting staff regarding missing necessary EDI filing data.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in insurance claims department OR related office environment
  • Basic understanding of business technology, including MS Office, claims financial and imaging system.
  • Basic knowledge of insurance as it relates to a Claims Department and claims processes
  • Ability to take direction and make decisions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish goals and meet deadlines
  • Self-organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn new procedures and adapt to a changing environment.
  • Professional telephone demeanor and good oral and written communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Some college or Insurance related course preferred

Degree of Supervision Required:

  • Supervision will be needed during the initial stages of employment and with the introduction of any new job tasks or responsibilities, as well as some resource support to handle questions/issues that arise during the normal course of business.
  • Minimal supervision is needed during the normal course of business.
