Job Summary:

The Transaction Advisory Practice (TAP) provides consultative property & casualty insurance and employee benefits due diligence advisory services to the private equity community and Lockton’s existing client base. This team of experienced professionals provides a comprehensive assessment of the financial impact of insurance and employee benefits on a potential acquisition from both a purchase price and ongoing operational perspective.

As an employee benefits Senior Transaction Advisor, you will be the primary point of contact between the TAP team and Lockton service teams while responsible for managing the employee benefits due diligence process for our private equity and corporate clients; gaining a thorough understanding of the structure of each transaction and identifying potentially deal-impactful issues arising from the target entity’s employee benefits program within the context of the deal terms and conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a mastery of the employee benefits landscape, the private equity & due diligence space, and the ability to effectively communicate findings with clients & third parties.
  • Understand the analyst and advisor roles to be able to step in and assist on deals when needed which includes:
  • Assist in all facets of electronic and paper data collection processes with organization of documents for analysis.
  • Populate and/or create financial spreadsheets and illustrations based upon data financial analysis.
  • Review documents and agreements such as policies, summary plan descriptions, employee census, claims experience reports, compliance tests, and other related materials.
  • Maintain and update data request lists on an as needed basis.
  • Coordinating internal & external resources as required for larger, more complex transactions
  • Accurately track and record project updates on an as needed basis.
  • Responsible for having the next level conversations about the impact deal issues & findings will have on the client’s strategic corporate objectives post-closing.
  • Responsible for maintaining relationships with Lockton service teams & internal resource groups to ensure our resources are up to date & accurate.
  • Assist in the training & development of Analyst & Advisor associates.
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties as needed.

    Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or equivalent education and/or work experience. Relevant advanced degree (MBA or J.D.) preferred.
  • Understanding and successful completion of all Analyst roles with a willingness and capability to train and work in tandem with current Analysts.
  • Aptitude in mathematical calculations and general business acumen.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the ability to quickly learn how to effectively use various virtual data sites and Lockton technology tools.
  • Ability to successfully adapt in a dynamic, changing, and fast-paced environment.
  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to take initiative and ownership in work/projects and follow through completion.
  • Ability to communicate professionally in written correspondence.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with Associates at all levels.
  • Legally able to work in the United States.
