Job Description

Job Title: Senior Asphalt Sales Estimator

Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking an experienced Senior Asphalt Sales Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in asphalt paving and maintenance, with a focus on new asphalt projects, patching, sealcoating, and related services. A solid understanding of concrete estimating is preferred. This role will be instrumental in driving sales and ensuring accurate project estimates, contributing to the overall success of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for asphalt paving, maintenance, patching, and sealcoating projects. Ensure accuracy and competitiveness in pricing.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions. Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and conditions.
  • Develop comprehensive proposals and bids for new projects, including timelines, materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive pricing, and market conditions to enhance bidding strategies and company offerings.
  • Work closely with project managers, operations teams, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution and adherence to specifications.
  • Prepare and present sales forecasts and performance reports to management, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators and sales staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years in asphalt sales estimating, with a strong focus on paving and maintenance projects.
  • In-depth understanding of asphalt materials, installation processes, and maintenance practices. Familiarity with concrete estimating is a plus.
  • Proficient in estimating software and tools. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively conveying technical information to clients and team members.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required based on experience.
