The Business Analytics Lead will be responsible for reporting and analytics surrounding Bloomberg Industry Group's financial data as well as performing other ad hoc analysis and making recommendations based on outcomes.

This individual will support the Data Analytics Team through building and evaluation of analytic models and visualization of key metrics. This individual will be required to manage projects and direct others in the organization to adopt data-driven processes and implement data in their decision-making. Key areas of responsibility include partnering with stakeholders to identify requirements, creating and enhancing reporting solutions, and automating manual data analysis processes.

The role is responsible for data gathering, report development, QA, and analysis of a broad set of regularly scheduled reports as well as various ad hoc reports and analyses. The Business Analytics Lead will also be required to lead and contribute to strategic projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages data projects by leading analysts and technical colleagues through project inception to completion.
  • Drive strategy and decision-making across the organization based on analytics.
  • Trains, guides, and coaches analysts and technical roles in business units and central corporate teams in financial reporting and analytics.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy and compliance with internal and external policies, including monitoring forecast accuracy, understanding drivers of variances, and providing insightful commentary & analysis for both current and future periods.
  • Partners with key teams such as Sales, Business Units, and Finance to assist with data, reporting, and analytics initiatives that each of those groups lead.
  • Interprets data, analyzes results using statistical techniques, and provides ongoing reports.
  • Develops and implements data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
  • Acquires data from primary or secondary data sources and maintains databases/data systems.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets, with focus on financial data.
  • Builds complex reports and serves as an advisor to team members.
  • Attends meetings and may act as a representative for the Data Analytics team.
  • Manages projects with minimal supervision.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven working experience as a data analyst or senior data analyst.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with excel and financial data / modeling.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong comfort level gathering requirements, conducting interviews and facilitating brainstorming or collaboration sessions with customer representatives.
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
  • Skilled in managing multiple requests and maintaining a high-level of responsiveness.
  • Experience being self-directed in managing projects.
  • Ability to advise team members and lead matrixed groups.
  • Experience utilizing a large integrated ERP/MRP computer system (e.g., Oracle, SAP), a plus.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Workday, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar systems, preferred.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with courses in business, mathematics, statistics or appropriate combination of education and experience required.
  • A minimum of 4+ years of experience creating, reporting from, and analyzing large datasets from multiple disparate sources, producing analytic reports for high-level audiences, and presentation of information. Experience building complex reports and managing projects.
