Responsibilities:

  • Consult with hiring managers to understand roles to be filled and profiles of ideal candidates.
  • Source, recruit, screen and interview candidates for full-time, part-time, internships and temporary roles at the Home Office.
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate interviewers or panels.
  • Verify employment eligibility, gather necessary paperwork, and perform reference, background checks.
  • Test and score applicants and gather feedback from other interviewers.
  • Prepare and extend job offers. Notify applicants of rejection.
  • Conduct new employee onboarding and orientation sessions.
  • Participate in regional career fairs.
  • Facilitate summer internship program.
  • Complete special projects as assigned including establishing schedules, conducting research, developing and organizing information, creating procedures, etc.
  • Understand the critical importance of confidentiality and always protect employee and Modern Woodmen information.
  • Assist Employee Services in the following functional areas: onboarding, employee relations, performance management, policy development and implementation, and employment law compliance.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
What we need:
  • Bachelor’s degree. Human Resources experience preferred, but not required.
  • Must be an effective listener, communicator and facilitator.
  • Understand the importance of building and maintaining relationships.
  • Must be a master with time management.
  • Be firm, yet flexible in order to meet ever-changing stakeholder demands, as well as being personable.
  • Must possess a high degree of adaptability and tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Must be professional and discreet. Position includes access to confidential data.
What we offer:
  • Pay: The hourly pay for this position is $28.00. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
  • Work Arrangements: This is a full-time office focused position: 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day), Monday- Friday, with flexible start time between 7:00AM-9:00AM. Office focused positions work on-site due to the nature of the work and have limited remote days.
