TheRegional Warehouse Operations Manager functions in both a 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) and Michelin environment whose multifaceted role is crucial for the efficient functioning of Finished Product warehouse operations in the AMN region. Let's delve into the details:

Team Management:

  • Hire, train, support, and coach direct team.
  • Foster a positive work environment within team, with other Michelin teams, and with external suppliers (including 3PL's).

3PL Contracting Framework and relationship:

  • Define and deploy local 3PL contracting framework, including selection, contracting, and relationship development with partners. Lead the selection and assessment process with the engagement of internal Michelin stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to secure the best commercial proposition from local 3PL providers and identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Act as the regional focal point for the 3PL's, guiding operational implementations, developing new business areas, and resolving disputes.
  • Maintain a benchmarking and ongoing assessment process for 3PL's. This includes reviewing service providers that maybe of interest to the regional organization without necessarily launching a formal selection process.

Safety and Security:

  • Establish and enforce safety standards.
  • Coordinate security measures to protect warehouse property.

Operational Oversight:

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards/referential.
  • Set KPIs that capture, measure and report on the service delivery and financial performance achieved by each 3PL service providers.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of both 3PL and Michelin-operated warehouses.
  • Oversee inventory, warehouse, and quality control processes.

Financial Management:

  • Manage budgets, allocate resources efficiently, analyze financial data and address variances.
  • Optimize profitability while maintaining high-quality service.

Full Responsibility of Performance Monitoring, Process Development, and Innovation:

  • Monitor site performance (short-term to long-term) in financial, customer service, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement best practices (using benchmarking) for receiving, handling, storing, picking, and shipping products.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing especially on efficiency gains through team, engineering, and 3PL personnel.
  • Innovate warehouse layout, equipment, and handling systems. Coordinate automation, efficiency, and quality projects with Michelin engineering and 3PL resources.
  • Create a tactical development plan for each 3PL service provider encompassing a continuous improvement and innovation framework.
