DULCE Family Specialist

Lund is a qualified employer for Public Student Loan Forgiveness

About the Position:
Developmental Understanding and Legal Collaboration for Everyone (DULCE) is an innovative approach within pediatric care settings, focusing on proactively addressing social determinants of health, promoting healthy infant development, and providing essential support to parents during the critical first six months of life. DULCE introduces a Family Specialist, trained in child development, relational practices, and problem-solving, into the pediatric care team. The Family Specialist attends well-child visits with families and providers, offering peer support and working with the DULCE Interdisciplinary Team to connect families with resources and support.

As a DULCE Family Specialist, you'll be an integral part of the healthcare team, promoting healthy child development using a protective factors approach. Based at a Burlington pediatric office, you'll collaborate with medical, legal, and community providers to deliver holistic, family-centered services, complete necessary assessments, maintain documentation, and perform other assigned duties.
What We Look For:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or a related field, with expertise in working with families and children, and experience utilizing community resources. They should possess theoretical and practical knowledge of systems theory, family dynamics, poverty, transitional services, and community-based resources. Candidates must be able to pass a background check upon receiving a conditional offer of employment and maintain regular attendance, which is essential to meeting job expectations. The role requires a demonstrated ability to embody Lund's values of collaboration, compassion, empathy, integrity, and respect. Additionally, candidates must understand and comply with operational standards, safety requirements, and employee policies, as outlined by the residential program and Children's Integrated Services. A strong commitment to supporting diversity, equity, and cultural competency across job responsibilities and diverse cultures is essential. The ability to handle multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment with frequent interruptions, along with strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to deescalate and resolve sensitive situations respectfully, is required. Candidates must demonstrate excellent judgment and maintain confidentiality, build positive working relationships with co-workers, families, and other departments, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Proficiency in applicable hardware and software, collaboration with other professional disciplines, and participation as a team member are also required. Candidates should be able to engage in treatment planning, maintain accurate records, and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changes within program structure. A nonjudgmental attitude regarding reproductive choices, parenting options, and substance-abusing clients is crucial. A valid VT Driver's License and access to reliable transportation are also required.
