The Volunteer Services Associate is responsible for recruiting, on-boarding and training volunteers. Additional responsibilities include representing St. Luke's at various career fairs or other key places to recruit volunteers and assisting the department with daily functions as needed.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Recruits, screens, interviews, selects, assigns and evaluates adult and student volunteers.
  • Provides timely follow-up in scheduling interviews and obtaining required materials from prospective volunteers.
  • Provides an orientation for new volunteers and trains or arranges for appropriate training.
  • Promotes/advertises volunteer engagement locally either in person at career or health fairs, expos, through online volunteer advertisements, local newspapers, etc.
  • Recruits current volunteers to participate with one time network special events.
  • Assists with processing short-term observers.
  • Works with the appropriate volunteer tracking system, corrects errors. Uses system to prepare monthly schedules for departments and track/communicate absences


PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Sitting for up to 6 hours per day and hour at a time. Walking for up to 2 hours, 10 minutes at a time. Frequent use of fingers for writing and or word processing, twisting, and turning occasionally. Uses upper extremities to occasionally lift and carry items up to 10 lbs. Occasionally stoops/bends and reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general vision: some visual monotony.

EDUCATION:

Associates Degree in Management, Business, Human Resources, Education, Social Work, or Psychology preferred. Three years experience managing volunteers in health care or related environment acceptable.
