POSITION OVERVIEW
In collaboration with volunteers, this role is responsible for delivering prompt and friendly service to all customers visiting the gift shop. This description outlines the primary responsibilities and expectations associated with this position and is not intended to cover every task that may be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

PRIMARY DUTIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Serve customers and manage the cash register efficiently.

2. Ensure the shop is maintained in a neat and organized manner.

3. Process weekly deliveries and returns of publications.

4. Restock items such as snacks, beverages, and gifts as necessary.

5. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

6. Uphold confidentiality regarding all sensitive information.

7. Adhere to organizational policies concerning safety and reporting protocols.

8. Exemplify the organization's Service Excellence Standards in all customer interactions.

9. Engage in continuous improvement efforts across various operational areas.

10. Demonstrate fiscal responsibility through prudent resource management.

11. Follow attendance and dress code policies as outlined.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, with occasional bending and reaching. Must possess normal hearing and vision capabilities.

POTENTIAL RISKS

Potential for minor injuries while handling merchandise; caution is advised.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES

Ensuring accurate inventory management of publications.

SUPERVISION

Reports to the Business Coordinator of the Gift Shops.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE

Previous sales experience is essential; familiarity with cash register operations is preferred.
