The opportunity

This part-time role is integral to the university's Talent Development department. The Operations Specialist collaborates with key stakeholders to support our suite of university-wide staff learning experiences. You will provide holistic operations support, including thought partnership, planning, budget, contracts, and virtual meeting support. You will also engage in team-building efforts to promote and sustain a positive team culture. You will have an opportunity to impact our organization's learning initiatives, build strong relationships, and contribute to our overall mission. You will report to the Operations & Projects Team Lead.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee elements of the budget, contract management, and vendor relations within the department.
  • Track supply needs and complete supply orders.
  • Build and maintain relationships across the department and with partners, promote common practices, implement continuous improvement, and complete assigned work.
  • Manage Professional Development Funds for university staff.
  • Participate in efforts to promote a positive team culture within the department through team-building activities and promoting collaboration.
  • Help lead and create events for learners and team members.
  • Enhance the department's work management system through strategic planning support and maintaining system conventions.
  • Other responsibilities, or activities may be assigned at any time with or without notice
What we're looking for:
  • HSD/GED and 3+ years of related experience or Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of related experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a high aptitude to build relationships and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in work deliverables.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Desire and ability to learn project management methodologies and tools.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $21.89 - $35.03. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $24.19 - $32.73.
