This is an entry-level position with plenty of opportunities to grow.
Job Description
As a junior network engineer, you will be responsible for:
Installing, configuring, and maintaining network devices like routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Working with VOIP and IP Phone systems.
Monitoring and troubleshooting network performance and security issues.
Providing technical support and guidance to clients and internal staff.
Documenting network configurations, policies, and procedures.
Keeping up to date with the latest network technologies and best practices.
Job Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
A technical background and a strong interest in computer networking.
Basic knowledge of network protocols, such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, etc.
Basic knowledge of network security, such as firewalls, encryption, authentication, etc.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
A willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
Spend about 20% of their time working in the field at client sites, configuring new installations and assisting Senior Engineers with designing and implementing new solutions.
Education and Experience
The following qualifications are preferred, but not required:
An associate's degree or higher in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
A relevant certification, such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA
Some experience in network engineering, VOIP, or cybersecurity.
