Job Description

Job Summary:

Designs, implements, operates, and maintains the enterprise’s on-premises and cloud-based authentication, authorization, and communication infrastructure.

Work is performed under general direction. Participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Administers the systems of one or more of the following IT Infrastructure areas:

  • IT Client Infrastructure

  • Directory Services – The position will be fully responsible for enterprise directory services (primarily Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID) but will include additional instances of Azure Active Directory, and potentially other SSO partners. This will include the maintenance, monitoring, security, and administration for both commercial and GCC-High environments.Partially responsible for settingup, maintaining, and troubleshooting new and existing SSO connections. Manage licenses.

  • E-Mail Environment – The position will bepartially responsible for the administration and maintenance of the organization's email / messaging system(s). Works with the development, implementation, and optimization of messaging systems. Monitors server performance and mail routing. Provides second-level support and troubleshoots complex issues. Monitors existing messaging infrastructure and server usage, ensuring proper working order. Document internal policies or develop training for end-users.

  • Security – The position will be responsible for working with the IT security team on security matters in their area of responsibility to ensure corporate assets and information are protected from external threats.

  • Automation, Performance Monitoring, and Reporting – For their assigned infrastructure,, the position will be responsible formaintaining monitoring solutions visible to Information Technology. The position will be partially responsible for maintaining departmental automation and reporting.

  • IT Collaboration Infrastructure

  • Microsoft Teams- The position will assist with cloud-based collaboration solutions such as Microsoft Teams. This may include architecture, security, administration (setup, configuration and upgrade), project and review of client needs.

  • Domain Registration and Domain Name Services: The position will assist with securing domain settings and ensuring domain name records are aligned with Teledyne policies and procedures. The position will be familiar with enterprise domain registration concepts and procedures.

  • IT Infrastructure Policy, Process and Standards – The position will be responsible for implementing and maintaining solutions consistent with IT infrastructure policy, processes, and associated standards. Thismay include asset management and license compliance from both a hardware and software perspective.

  • General Support – In assigned areas of responsibility, the position will have support responsibilities specific to the authentication, authorization, and collaborationproblems level 1 and 2 support teams cannot address. Support will require troubleshooting malfunctions to resolve operational issues and restore services.

  • Project Management – Able to research and understand newtechnologies and create pathways to implementation that align with existing systems.Plans and coordinates assigned projects from initiation to delivery. When necessary, coordinates work performed by IT staff and internal customers/partners by defining project requirements, performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments, developing agendas, and conducting meetings.Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities but provides technical leadership and guidance to other Systems Administrators. This includes, but is not limited to, training employees, planning, assigning, directing work, and resolving technically related work problems.It also includes interaction with other technical teams and assisting in the management of vendor relationships.
