Description
FEDITC, LLC is a fast-growing business supporting DoD and other intelligence agencies worldwide. Since 2013, FEDITC has had the distinct privilege of supporting the DoD with sustained, award-winning engineering services at nearly 50 installations in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Southwest Asia. FEDITC successfully provided support to multi-billion dollar DoD engineering initiatives. We continue to provide technical, engineering, energy and programmatic support across the DoD Civil Engineering enterprise, supporting all echelons of the DoD civil engineering community: installation-, directorate-, MAJCOM- and Air Staff-level.
Overview of position:
FEDITC is seeking Environmental Technicians to oversee the Hazardous Waste (HazWaste) yard, complete inspections, provide training and other tasks identified in the base environmental plans.
These positions are at Prince Sultan AB (PSAB), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and require active DOD Secret clearances.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid U.S. passport
- DoD SECRET security clearance required.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Manage and operate the Hazardous Material Yards.
- Implement Base Environmental Plans. Ensure timelines and deadlines for all base plan actions, inspections, and reports are met.
- Conduct necessary training of base personnel as directed by the client or base environmental plan.
- Conduct necessary site visits, inspections, and environmental actions as directed by the client and the base environmental plan.
- Manage, handle, transport/coordinate the transport of, and dispose of hazardous material and refrigerants.
- Calculate emissions and identify emissions point.
- Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC'S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).
- Other support duties as needed/directed.
Experience/Skills:
- Three (3) years' experience working in Environmental HazWaste Units/processing hazmat/waste.
- Two (2) years' experience working in a HazWaste yard.
- Familiarity with types of environmental testing and when testing required.
- Knowledge of/familiarity with the Clean Air Act.
- Knowledge of Clean Water Act (CWA), spill prevention control and countermeasure.
- Familiar with disposal methods.
- Familiar with types of facilities and industrial/nonindustrial locations where toxics are typically found.
- Familiar with threatened/endangered species.
- Understand the difference between short-term recovery and long-term remediation/clean-up.
- Understand when to implement the Environmental impact analysis process (EIAP).
- Ability to coordinate with external government agencies.
- Technical writing skills.
- Ability to forecast and schedule training.
- Ability to read and apply regulations.
- Familiarity with conducted inspections & developing and initiating corrective action plans.
- Fluently read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
- Have, or able to obtain a driver's license and able to legally drive in the country assigned.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Possess and maintain a current passport.
- Ability to live and work in a contingency environment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to develop solutions to address noncompliance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain 40-hour OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification. Current 40-hour HAZWOPER preferred.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- DoD SECRET security clearance required.
- Comply with necessary theater and country clearance, training, immunizations and medical requirements. A listing of USCENTCOM vaccine requirements is available online at the official website of the Military Health System and the Defense Health Agency.
- Be able to work as a part of a team, displaying professional behavior that aligns with the military code of conduct and IAW base behavior/conduct guidelines.
- Pass a standard physical examination that includes, at a minimum: medical history, height, weight, blood pressure, HIV antibody and chest X-ray.
- Be free from any communicable diseases and in general good health.
- Possess binocular vision correctable to 20/30 (Snellen) and be free of color blindness.
- Be capable of hearing ordinary conversation at 15 feet with either ear, with or without the benefit of a hearing aid.
- Be physically capable of performing duties, functions and activities as outlined above.
