Position Summary:
The Environmental Services Operations Manager oversees and directs the environmental services personnel at a designated facility, ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
This role provides leadership, support, coordination, and guidance to meet quality standards, inventory levels, safety protocols, and customer service expectations.
Utilizes protective equipment as necessary in all job functions.
Maintains accurate records of income and expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment.
Ensures all equipment is properly maintained and operational.
Monitors inventory levels of janitorial supplies.
Conducts periodic inventory assessments, trains new staff, and recommends personnel actions as needed.
Acts as a liaison between facility occupants and the environmental services team.
The Manager must effectively communicate directives from management and facility occupants to the environmental services staff.
Capable of performing the duties of custodial staff, including day porter and floor technician roles.
Training, quality control, and staff development are essential responsibilities of the Manager, which includes regular inspections of the facility to assess work quality using Quality Control Inspections (QCIs) for documentation.
The Manager is a key leader within the organization and is expected to conduct themselves and their department in a professional manner.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Two years of experience in Environmental Services within a school or healthcare setting, along with personnel supervision, is desired.
Basic computer skills are preferred.
Must be able to understand and complete all required training.
Punctuality is essential.
Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
Understanding and implementation of basic infection control procedures is necessary.
Capability to safely handle and mix cleaning chemicals.
Flexibility to work various shifts as required.
Knowledge of Environmental Services, laundry, and floor care program requirements.
Familiarity with all departmental equipment is essential.
Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required.
Strong written and oral communication skills, along with teaching abilities.
Skill in using public relations techniques to promote the Environmental Services program to clients and residents.
Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies, as required by State, Local, and/or Customers.
Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, and stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
