Participate on teams and individually to research and document existing inventory of telecommunication and related equipment; may include data entry and clean-up efforts and coordination with the local District Resource Specialist. Provide engineering technician expertise to support engineering design and field personnel in all aspects of project documentation. Organize and analyze drawings prior to setup and discuss project complexity and time estimates with technical and supervisory personnel. Draft designs from engineers' idea notes and rough sketches utilizing sources such as electronic files, drawing stick files, and central records vault. Participate in the development and revision of Telecommunication drawing templates and standards. Assist with various administrative duties, such as engineering record maintenance which includes obtain new drawing numbers, input drawing information into the organization's CAD database at the various stages of the CAD process and complete necessary forms to submit final drawings to central records. Perform sub-system user file management within CAD systems, such as plotting, printing, storage and retrieving and returning drawings from ProjectWise. Update and maintain the As Built file structure within ProjectWise; maneuver .pdf and .dgn files as requested. Prepare and draft detailed As Built drawings via MicroStation CAD software.
